Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, with excellent benefit package
Rate of Pay: 23.02 – 25.91 (per 5 step wage scale)
Shift: Monday – Friday
Reports To: Facility Director

About the Position
Wallowa County is seeking a skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of all county buildings and properties. Working under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of tasks, from building repairs and landscaping to vehicle fleet upkeep and supply management.
- Perform building maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and construction tasks.
- Maintain and repair security systems, doors, and locks.
- Oversee landscaping, yard care, and seasonal decorations (such as holiday lights).
- Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Manage the courthouse vehicle fleet, including scheduling and repairs.
- Order and track custodial supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, cleaning products, etc.).
- Assist with safety compliance, including leading or organizing safety meetings.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, landscaping, or related field.
- Knowledge of general repair practices (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
- Experience with horticulture/landscaping equipment preferred.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License required
- Oregon Driver’s License with clean driving record (preferred)
