- Compensation: $26.25-$31.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

We are an active community of hikers, packers, and outdoor enthusiasts dedicated to keeping the trails of Hells Canyon and the Wallowa Mountains open and accessible with a “boots on the ground” ethic. We partner with the USFS to complete trail and infrastructure projects across areas of Eastern Oregon.
Our volunteers clear downed trees, trim brush, install signs, and share their love of the outdoors with youth and visitors — protecting these trails for everyone who seeks adventure, peace, and connection in the wild. For more information, visit wmhcta.org.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Core Duties: Support the Executive Director in all aspects of managing WMHCTA, including:
- Managing Outreach & Communications: Website maintenance, registration, social media, and outreach project creation.
- Recruiting and organizing volunteers for trail projects
- Trail Project Leadership
- Keeping detailed records of project performance statistics
- Specialized Project Management (e.g., trail sign manufacture and installation project)
- Grant & Government agreement management
- Experience: One season working on trail maintenance
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in website design and Microsoft platforms, project management, and leading volunteer crews.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and leadership capabilities.
