Preschool Promise Coach/Preschool Classroom Auxiliary Support
Position Summary
The Preschool Promise Coach / Preschool Classroom Auxiliary Support provides direct
coaching, guidance, and technical assistance to Preschool Promise program staff and
partners across Wallowa County. This position also supports preschool classrooms by
assisting with instruction, supervision, family engagement, and program operations as
needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preschool Promise Coaching
Provide on-site and virtual coaching using research-based practices.
Support teachers with curriculum, assessment, and environmental design.
Assist programs with compliance to ELD standards and contracts.
Facilitate goal-setting and continuous quality improvement.
Conduct walkthroughs, observations, and fidelity checks.
Support understanding of ORO, licensing, and SPARK requirements.
Classroom Auxiliary Support
Assist teachers in maintaining safe, play-based learning environments.
Support small-group, individual, and center-based activities.
Implement teacher-designed lessons and routines.
Supervise children during classroom, outdoor, and transition times.
Support documentation and assessment tasks.
Maintain organized and safe classroom environments.
Program & Family Support
Prepare materials and classroom resources.
Support communication and positive relationships with families.
Assist with screenings, outreach, and events.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with policies.
Teamwork & Professionalism
Collaborate with ESD staff and partners.
Attend trainings and meetings.
Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed care.
Maintain documentation and required records.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in early learning settings.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
Ability to travel locally and communicate professionally.
Ability to pass required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
ORO Step 8 or higher (or willingness to progress).
Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
Coaching or mentoring experience.
Knowledge of Preschool Promise and Oregon early learning standards.
Bilingual skills preferred.
Working Conditions
Work in classrooms, offices, and partner sites.
Frequent local travel; some evening/weekend hours.
Ability to lift 40 lbs and engage in active play with children.
