The Josephy Center’s Spring Exhibit Opening Reception is Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. There will be wine, art, music, and a chance to meet many of the artists. The exhibit will be on display until May 11, 2016, with many Center events complimenting the theme throughout that time.
Curator Kendrick Moholt developed the concept for the exhibit. “Some of my favorite photography subjects are birds, but when I thought about a show of just birds, I thought it wouldn’t be compelling enough for an artists and viewers. With a little brainstorming, we came up with the idea of ‘wings.’ Wings opens the door to insects, animals, angels, and even airplanes.”
Over twenty-five artists were accepted into the show, including local artists Michelle Baird, Ellen Bishop, Jo Jefferies, Gwen Shoemaker, Robert Kemp, David Martin, Jennifer Klimsza, Rick McEwan, Tim Norman, and Silje Christoffersen. They will be joined by noted regional artists Debbie McIntosh, Lee Minae, Susan Schin, MC Reardon, Jan Holt, Vania Vananina, Russell Young and Scott Carpenter.
