Come learn about charismatic mega-fauna from Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) staff on this jaunt through the Wildlife Area. Situated approximately six miles south of the town of Lostine, the wildlife area consists of almost 1,000 acres of grasslands and timber that is managed by ODFW for mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk and bighorn sheep. It was here that bighorns - which were functionally extinct in the Wallowas - were reintroduced in the 1970s.
