Wallowa Land Trust Outing: Maxville: A Natural History of Place
Maxville: A Natural History of Place
Take a trip out to the historic town of Maxville with Gwen Trice of the Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center. Maxville was a multicultural logging community that operated until the early 1930’s, and was home to the only segregated school in Oregon. Local forester Bruce Dunn will be on site to discuss the historical and current significance of logging.
Outings fill up fast, so please contact us to reserve your space. In addition, many of our outings have heavy sun exposure and include hiking on hilly uneven terrain; it is important to be aware of your physical limitations and come prepared. Please dress appropriately for the elements and for the outing. Wear sunscreen and hiking boots and don't forget to always carry water.
