Wallowa Land Trust Conservation Planning
Wallowa Land Trust Conservation Planning
Over the last decade Wallowa Land Trust has collaborated with local landowners to meet conservation goals on private lands – goals ranging from the keeping large farms intact, preventing subdivision and development, allowing for continued agricultural uses and protecting wildlife habitat and scenic values. Each project is designed to meet landowner objectives while providing a tangible public benefit.
The Land Trust's work in recent years has raised its visibility and demand for services has increased substantially. The Land Trust is ready to take the next step and pull together a conservation plan that serves as a road map for future conservation efforts, one that is strategic and in step with partners and neighbors.
In October, the Land Trust met with natural resource experts and community leaders in an effort to receive feedback and input on their conservation planning effort. They asked participants for input on key natural resources in the county, special places and values important to the community.
Wallowa Land Trust is seeking further input from the community. Over the next three weeks the Land Trust is looking for feedback to get a full picture of the values people treasure through an online survey. All are encouraged to participate in the five minute, anonymous survey. Visit www.wallowalandtrust.org to take Wallowa Land Trust’s Conservation Plan Survey.
