Tunesmith Night
The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance continues their 19th season of Tunesmith Night, a showcase of original music. The concert features three songwriters sharing their original work in a round-robin format, at the historic Enterprise Odd Fellows Hall. The unique listening space provides an up-close and intimate experience for both audience and performers.
The Saturday, April 12 concert features songwriters Neal Goldberg, Kay Miracle, and David Henry. Doors open at 6:30pm with music starting at 7pm. Admission is $10. Beverage service available. This edition of Tunesmith Night is sponsored by Randi Jandt and Jon Larson.
Neal Goldberg is a guitarist and singer-songwriter upholding the spirit of a vagabond and storyteller. He’s played in cafe’s, clubs, bar’s, street corners and amphitheater’s on 4 different continents. Edgy, raw and spontaneous, Neal’s original songs are about heartache, failure, love, and home, all mixed in with the current socio-economic pressures of the times. A composer, arranger, producer, teacher and most of all, a performer, Neal has been playing for over 20 years. A distinct blend of old school blues, jazz and American folk, his guitar-playing has infamously made many cry in joy.
Kay Miracle began her singer/ songwriting journey at a young age, playing in bands during college in Washington State, USO military tours, and ending up in Central New York.
As the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the alternative country band Reckless Drivin’ she took home a total of 5 SAMMY’s (awards honoring Syracuse’s local artists); 2 awarded to Kay personally as “Best Country Vocalist”. Kay also showcasing her original songs with Americana Duo/ Bands “Kay & the Miracle Cure” and the “Ghost Town Ramblers”. She has released 3 -CDs which have aired worldwide.
Kay founded a program called “Blood to Ink" to work with Veterans through songwriting, and also assisting teens and seniors with finding their authentic voice by telling their unique story through song. Kay's story has been featured on the PBS series, "Inside the Story".
With driving guitar, roots laden vocals and a strong sense of knowing the power of a good lyrical hook, Kay has a portfolio of over 200 original songs she is constantly recording as a soloist and with band projects across the country. Find out more at www.kaymiracle.com.
David Henry has been touring and playing the Northwest and beyond for the last 15 years. Cutting his teeth with groups like Jonathan Warren and the Billy Goats as well as Andrew Sheppard Band, and The Pan Handles. He started his own project, David Henry Band and has enjoyed writing and performing music for the last five years with some of the best musicians Idaho has to offer. His songwriting is influenced heavily by the 60-70s folk scene as well as old- school Texas and Idaho country. Melodies from the heart pushed by four chords and the truth.
