Tunesmith Night
The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance continues the 19th season of Tunesmith Night, a showcase of original music. The concert features three songwriters sharing their original work in a round-robin format, at the historic Enterprise Odd Fellows Hall. The unique listening space provides an up-close and intimate experience for both audience and performers.
The Saturday, February 8 concert features Elwood, Megan Alder, and Travis Ward. Doors open at 6:30pm with music starting at 7pm. Admission is $10. Beverage service available.
What is it that moves your soul? For Elwood it has always been the ever awe inspiring serenity and sheer power of Mother Nature and you can feel it in his music. The trickle of a small stream, the roar of a thunder cloud, the pure silence of meadow lit by the coming of the sun--these things sit at the very core of Elwood’s music. Elwood has had the honor of sharing the stage with bands such as Simon Tucker, Tim Snider, Michael Kirkpatrick, Kory Quinn, Left Coast Country, David Henry, and many more.
Hailing from the Columbia River Gorge, Megan Alder is a vocal powerhouse performing upbeat swing and Americana music. She delivers her original songs with raw grit and soul. Influenced by artists like Billie Holiday and Bonnie Raitt, Alder performs with live loops and kazoo flare. Her latest release, Dark Side, features four original songs recorded live in Parkdale, OR. Dark Side is available now on all platforms.
Travis Ward is a bare knuckled folk singer, a broke down blues man, a DIY archivalist, producer, retired basketball player, fly fisher, poodle walker, but most importantly, a family man. Travis has toured the US, UK, and Europe. He's played countless dive bars, festivals, and theaters from near and far, created film, soundtrack and live theater work. He's been busted, disgusted and mistrusted, yet he continues to make meaning of the world through his favorite medium, the well-crafted and timeless song.
