The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance continues the 17th season of Tunesmith Night, a showcase of original music. The concert features three songwriters sharing their original work in a round-robin format, at the historic Enterprise Odd Fellows Hall. The unique listening space provides an up-close and intimate experience for both audience and performers.
The Saturday, March 11 concert features Brian Oliver, Steve Fulton, and Karyn Ann. Doors open at 6:30pm with music starting at 7pm. Admission is $10. No food or drink service provided; BYO. Brian Oliver is a native Kansan who adopted Oregon as his newfound home State in 1972. He moved to Wallowa County in 1976, met his soon to be wife, and never left…at least not permanently. He is a recently retired cabinetmaker who is putting his woodworking skills to use trying to learn how to build guitars. Brian’s musical influences are rock, folk, and country. John Prine, Steve Earle, and John Hiatt are favorites. He loves to fish, hike, and ski when not in the shop or jamming with friends. Steve Fulton is a long-time singer-songwriter, producer and recording engineer based in Boise Idaho, where he owns and operates Audio Lab recording studios. For 12 years Fulton was singer, guitarist and principal songwriter in the group House of Hoi Polloi in which time they released five albums and toured the northwest extensively. Steve has released 3 Records on his Uncommon Records label, Shock Remission, Said & Heard and, Eponym. Eponym was the #1 seller at independent record store, The Record Exchange in 2016. Fulton is a personable fingerstyle acoustic guitarist in an Americana, modern folk, singer-songwriter style with a funky twist. Think Jon Prine meets Elliot Smith. Fulton has opened for Bruce Cockburn, Tori Amos, Jewel, Shaun Colvin, John Hiatt, Michael Franti and the Wallflowers to name a few. He was the recipient of The Idaho Commission on the Arts Fellowship Grant in 2009 as well as the Mayor's Choice award that same year. Learn more at www.stevefultonmusic.com Described as a “combination of Patty Griffin grit and Amy Winehouse grace” by American Songwriter, Soul/Americana singer-songwriter Karyn Ann packs a proverbial punch with her powerful vocals and emotive lyricism. Her songwriting and performance chops have earned her spots at the Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist showcase, the Red Ants Pants Music Festival, and recently received Honorable Mention in the 2022 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter showcase. Her upcoming single "Consequence of Fear" is a 70's throwback reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac with a tinge of 90s Never Ending Story. Learn more at www.karynann.com. |
