In this generative workshop, we?ll delve into the rich and expansive form of the personal essay. Over the course of four weeks, we?ll read a diversity of works that exemplify the breadth and flexibility of the form, from James Baldwin to Ocean Vuong, Joan Didion to Zadie Smith. Using inspiration and tools gathered from these close readings, we?ll dig into our own lives and experiences and work toward the completion of a full draft of one personal essay by the end of the month.
