Stockgrowers Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner
The Wallowa County Agricultural Resource Foundation is again holding our fundraising dinner on January 23rd at Cloverleaf Hall in support of the Wallowa County Stockgrowers academic scholarships. These scholarships are given to local kids pursuing a career in an agriculture or related field.
This scholarship has been in place since the early 1970s! The Wallowa County Agricultural Resource Foundation (WCARF) is now the nonprofit foundation under the Stockgrowers group that makes donations to this scholarship fund tax deductible.
The money raised from this event determines how much we will be able to present in scholarships this fall. Last year we gave $20,000 to eight students, over the past three years we have been able to award $54,000.00 to 18 eligible applicants. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000. These substantial scholarships are very important in helping Wallowa County kids pursue their degrees. Community support is vital in helping keep this scholarship program a success. Money donated, in any amount, goes directly to the scholarship fund.
This year the evening will include a prime rib dinner, the 50/50 game, and our famous dessert auction. We hope to see you at the Prime Rib Dinner fund raiser.
