Sound Engineering from the Ground Up
The Josephy Center presents Sound & Video Engineering Class taught by Bob Webb. This class will give high school students and interested community members the opportunity to learn the basics of sound engineering from an expert. For 30 years, Bob has worked as an audio engineer, music and documentary producer and music instructor. He holds a board position at the Music Alliance and has taught music to many children in the county. This sound engineering program will cover a comprehensive curriculum in conjunction with the schools and adults that want to learn about all aspects of sound management and recording. This class was made possible by a grant from the Oregon Community Foundation.
Bob's classes will begin with learning the basic skills necessary to setup a PA, do a sound check, solve technical problems, mix sound and record live performance for a varity of musical and non-musical settings . Next, he'll cover the basics of post production: editing, mixing, and mastering both live and studio-centered multi-track recording.
