Phinney Gallery of Fine Art will have a book signing between 4-8PM tomorrow of “Shoot the Skies” by Tanner Wendell Stewart. There will be books available and refreshments will be served.
Shoot the Skies, was a 2013 daily photo project dedicated entirely to raising awareness of the monumental issue of human trafficking, and to raising money to fund the fight. Every day a new picture was posted on facebook. At the close of the year these images and commentary were compiled into a self-published book, funded by Indiegogo, with all proceeds being donated to The A21 Campaign.
This project exists to bring a voice to the voiceless and to show you that beauty and light can be found even in darkness.
Shoot The Skies is officially partnered with The A21 Campaign, a Sydney-based international initiative to fight trafficking. We are a truly non-profit organization, meaning every bit of money donated to or raised by this project will be given in its entirety to A21, and to fighting the war on trafficking.
The project is the creative venture of Tanner Wendell Stewart, a professional photographer from Seattle WA. It is his desire to bring change to our world through photographic art. We hope that this project won’t stop, but will continue to grow, develop, and inspire other artists to use their art productively, not just for clout or cash, but to make positive change in the world. Shoot the Skies is an idea, a mission, and a platform—take your stand with us.
