Sharol Chandler Landscapes Exhibit
October 9 – November 7
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 PM
Join us for an evocative solo exhibition by Oregon-based artist Sharol Chandler, whose richly detailed acrylic landscapes capture the atmospheric light, shifting shadows, and stirring solitude of the western U.S. terrain—especially the wild and beloved reaches around northeast Oregon’s Eagle Cap Wilderness.
Through a carefully curated selection of her work, the show invites you to “step right into that story” of place, light and memory.
Sharol Chandler’s paintings are representations of landscapes throughout the western U.S.; however, her work has primarily focused on scenes in the Wallowa mountains of northeast Oregon where she has lived since 1976.
During the last several years the Eagle Cap Wilderness has been of particular interest to her. Living and hiking in this area all her adult life has allowed her to build a kinship with our forests, rivers, creeks, and mountains.
Watching the colors, shadows, reflections, atmosphere, and constantly shifting light endlessly fascinates her. Through her work, Sharol wants to show the grandeur that exists in the natural environment and allow the viewer to feel as though they are walking right into the landscape.
Galleries in Oregon, Idaho, and Washington have displayed her paintings, including the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. Sharol Chandler’s paintings are collected nationally.
Please join us for the opening reception on October 9 at 7:00 PM — a gathering to meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments, and experience these luminous landscapes in an immersive setting.
