"Seeing Main Street in a Whole New Light" – Lighting Workshop & District Tour
A thriving downtown doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Effective lighting plays a critical role in making Main Street districts feel welcoming, safe, and vibrant after dark.
Join nationally recognized retail design consultants Frontdoor Back for Seeing Main Street in a Whole New Light, a workshop that explores how lighting can enhance storefronts, support businesses, and encourage evening activity in downtown districts.
The evening begins with a short presentation introducing key lighting concepts, including:
- Why lighting is essential to a successful downtown
- The six layers of storefront and district lighting
- Lighting styles and terminology every business owner should know
- How public and private lighting can work together to strengthen the district
Following the presentation, participants will take part in a guided nighttime walking tour of downtown Joseph to see real-world examples of effective lighting — and where improvements could make a difference.
This event is ideal for business owners, property owners, downtown stakeholders, and anyone interested in improving the nighttime experience of our Main Street districts.
