Out of the Dark: Luminary Vigil for Suicide Prevention

Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness will be holding a second annual Out of the Dark Luminary Vigil on Saturday, September 10th. It will take place at the Wallowa County Courthouse at 7 pm, in honor of National Suicide Prevention Month and World Suicide Prevention. It’s a time to remember those affected by suicide, raise awareness, and focus efforts on directing treatment to those who need it most. September is also the time to share resources and stories, as well as promote suicide prevention awareness. This event will bring those together who have been affected by suicide and shed light on the issue. This will provide an opportunity to come, remember, and support one another in the process. We want people to find hope by coming together. Here is how you can participate in the Out of the Dark Luminary Vigil on September 10th at 7:00 PM and support World Suicide Prevention Day. Visit one of the following locations to get bags to decorate and leave for the luminary vigil: Wallowa Memorial Hospital lobby-Enterprise The Josephy Center-Joseph Building Healthy Families-Enterprise Enterprise Public Library Winding Waters Clinic-Enterprise Hearts for Health Building-606 Medical Parkway in Enterprise Wallowa Public Library Wallowa County Justice Department -Enterprise Bags will be available to decorate from August 17 to September 7 at the above locations. Then, come and visit the Courthouse the night of the event to see the messages of hope and receive suicide prevention resources.
