Points of View, a photography exhibit created by members of the Wallowa Valley Photo Club and curated by Harold Black, Lostine, opens soon at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture. Photographers were challenged to come up with interpretations of themes, such as portraits, whimsy, and for that great image that just didn’t fit a theme, it was photographer’s choice. Eric Valentine, a LaGrande resident who hikes the wilderness often to capture scenic wonders such as his “Sprague Creek,” (Image 1-Eric Valentine) is one of those “wow” photos.
Doors will open, September 21 at 7 p.m. and highlight the work of Emily Jones, Joseph, an up-and-coming young photographer whose work was judged Best of Show (Image 2-Emily Jones).
The opening festivities will feature live music by Robert Webb and Heidi Muller, refreshments by Erin Donavan and a no-host bar provided by Steve Lear. Photographers will be on hand to chat about their images and the public will be invited to vote for The People’s Choice. A donation to the Josephy Center of $5 is suggested. The show will close on October 20 at noon.
