Did you know that there is at least one meteorite lying on every square mile in eastern Oregon? Dick Pugh, an internationally-acclaimed meteorite scientist from Portland State University, will present a lively one-hour power point program on Wed., July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Joseph Public Library. Pugh will bring $10,000 worth of meteorites for the public to pick up and handle and will show what to look for when searching for these rocks from space. Please bring any questionable rocks that you would like identified. All ages are welcome to this free event, sponsored by Libraries of Eastern Oregon (LEO).
