Join us for the opening of Mardi Wood: Clay as Canvas, a captivating solo exhibition by artist Mardi Wood. Trained as a painter but deeply devoted to clay, Wood transforms porcelain into fluid, expressive vessels and slab-built forms that blur the line between painting and sculpture.
Her work is a visual and tactile narrative—thin porcelain walls rising between her fingers, oxides dripping, glazes cascading, and drawings of animals that capture movement, myth, and memory. From ancient aurochs painted in prehistoric caves to the revered Maremma cattle of Italy, Wood’s pieces connect timeless stories of animals to the modern world, inviting viewers to consider both their beauty and their vulnerability.
Enjoy an afternoon of art, conversation, and community as we celebrate this extraordinary body of work.
