Josephy Center Presents: Freestyle Piano
Introducing our 2nd annual presentation of local pianists in the county, on our baby grand at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture. There's a small wealth of amazing pianists living in Wallowa County that we are happy to showcase at this fundraiser for the Center. All donations go directly toward supporting art classes, the library, lectures and exhibits at the center. Classical, romantic, impressionist, and jazz pieces will be performed, in addition to some original compositions. Last year was such a smashing success, don't miss it!
Gail Swart, Julia Olsen, and Seth Kinzie are all piano teachers in Joseph and Enterprise. Gail Swart, or Mrs. Music, was the longtime Enterprise Elementary music teacher, and is now retired living on the south end of Wallowa Lake. Three years ago she received a rare standing ovation after performing at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. Seth Kinzie is an impressionist-jazz piano composer who just released a new album of instrumental music featuring drums, brass, banjo and violin. Jordan Maslach is a musician in the avant-garde realm of psychedelia, who also plays guitar and electronics. Molly Curry is a Joseph elementary school student who enjoys creating your her original music. Carrie Chupp is a young pianist who just moved to Joseph from Portland to work as a ranger in Wallowa State Park.
