Into the Wallowa Lecture: Wallowa Band Nez Perce Presentation
Regional heritage is something Wallowa County celebrates regularly, but the details of this history can become fuzzy when we reach back one hundred and fifty years or more into the past. Tim Nitz, Oregon-Washington Unit Manager of the Nez Perce National Historical Park, is dedicated to ensuring we understand and appreciate these often-overlooked aspects of history. Nitz stresses that there are many things about the Wallowa area before 1877 that are special and unique. On August 13th he will offer a free presentation on some of the extraordinary and innovative artifacts of the past, including Nez Perce place names, technology and tools, and arts and theoretical discourse. Join Wallowa Land Trust for Nitz’s presentation on Thursday August 13 at 7pm at Stage One (119 S. River Street) in Enterprise.
