The dinners are open to everyone — no cost, no requirements, and no reservations needed. The goal of the Monday Night Community Dinners is simple: to offer nourishment and connection during the winter months and beyond. In a rural county where isolation can be as challenging as food insecurity, these dinners provide a warm, welcoming space for neighbors to sit together, share a meal, and build relationships. The initiative is supported by local volunteers, chefs, and food procurement partners who have long been involved in community-based food efforts in Wallowa County. The newly expanded kitchen at The Place — including updated pantry space and refrigeration — makes it possible to prepare and serve meals more efficiently and sustainably. “Our hope is that Monday nights become a place where anyone can walk in, find a seat, and feel like they belong,” said Pastor Beth Estock. “Good food has a way of bringing people together.
