Flora School Day
Days of old come once again to Flora School, Saturday, June 4th, from 10am to 4pm. Volunteers of all shapes and sizes, walks of life and areas far afield will present pioneer skills from candle making for children, to weaving, basket making and spinning. Old time music rounds out the day. New demonstrations of pioneer skills are in the works as always: building wagon wheels, games for children and adults alike, rope making and more. Old favorites of the Dutch oven lunch, the country store, blacksmithing and the pie social continue to be part of the ever expanding activities. Along with the Dutch ovens heating up to bring lunch to the visitors, the wood cook stove worker will be baking as well for the lunch in their oven and cranking out butter for the breads too. For more information or to become a volunteer, demonstrator or just donate, email or call us at: Phone: 509-876-2858; Email: volunteers@floraschool.org. NATIONAL REGISTER & NONPROFIT: The Flora School is listed on the National Register due to education of our children and due to architecture. The Flora School Education Center is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to the restoration of the school and the promoting of pioneer skills and therefore all donations to the organization are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
