First Aid/CPR/AED
Project Heartbeat will be conducting a first aid/CPR/AED class. The class will train lay responders to assist those suffering medical emergencies, both minor and major, until the ambulance arrives. Upon completion of the course attendees will get two year certification from the American Red Cross. Cost of the 7-hour class is $48. For more information, or to register call 541-432-0259.
The First Aid/CPR/AED for adults course includes CPR as well as automated external defibrillator (AED) operation and training on how to deal with non-cardiac emergencies such as stroke, seizures, severe allergic reaction and diabetic emergencies. The course also covers responding to victims with severe bleeding, burns, heat and cold-related emergencies and muscle, bone and joint injuries as well as other emergencies. All courses are taught by certified instructors and upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive appropriate certificates which are good for 2 years.
