Wallowa Valley Music Alliance and Fishtrap team up for a culturally enriching weekend beginning Friday, September 9. Classical musicians from right here in Wallowa County join visiting regional artists to present a wide variety of classical music in six different locations over three days.
The program starts small, literally, with youngsters in grades 1 through 6 at Enterprise Elementary School. The collective of musicians, dubbed the Eagle Cap Chamber Players, will give an educational performance / demonstration at 2:00 PM Friday, September 9. This will be a show-and-tell type of presentation written and arranged by local woodwind player Mark Eubanks entitled, “Senses, Signals, Sounds, Songs, Silence,” featuring local alpenhorn master Bruce Coutant, also playing French horn, trumpet and trombone. Local oboist Lauren Guthridge will also be featured.
