Fair Housing Display At Courthouse
Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD) will post a display in the Wallowa County Courthouse that explores the issue of fair housing. The Fair Housing Council of Oregon created the display to bring to light the history of housing discrimination in our state. The display will be up for three days, Mar. 21-23.
“We invite the public to come by and learn about this important issue,” says NEOEDD Executive Director Lisa Dawson. “Until the Fair Housing Act was amended in 1988, it was legal to discriminate against people for all kinds of things, including having children! This display is part of a grant we’re involved with for the City of Richland.”
