A virtual presentation at Fishtrap.org
12:00pm or watch the recording afterwards on Fishtrap’s YouTube Channel.
Take a step back in time and learn about a day in the life of a woman on her homestead through first-person narration. Elizabeth will offer storytelling as she unpacks her wagon on her new homestead, which is not exactly what she was expecting. The virtual audience is encouraged to write Elizabeth letters. She loves receiving mail and writing back!
Ranger Cheri: Cheri Lonborg was born in the beautiful state of Washington, she has lived in Oregon since 1993. While very young her grandmother would tell her how her ancestors traveled the Oregon Trail in 1848, and how one of them picked up and kept an Ox shoe that she has to this day. She has worked at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (NHOTIC) for a total of almost 20 years. In that time, she has researched and read many journals and diaries, some heartbreaking, but many successful. At the Interpretive Center, she performs many different interpretive programs. Her character in these programs is Elizabeth, based on one of her ancestors who traveled the on the Oregon Trail.
