Community Conversations: Natural Resources
Come be part of our Building Community Tuesday Talk Series!
The third in a series of six “Building Community” talks will feature Natural Resources. Join us on Monday, May 20th for a thoughtful discussion on natural resources and their role in our region’s identity and economy. Featured speakers include Kelly Birkmaier (ranching), Joe Dawson (agriculture), and Jim Zacharias (timber). Each brings valuable insight from their field and local experience.
The Josephy Center received a grant from Oregon Humanities for this series of community conversations discussing private and public goods and services. What do businesses, churches, clinics, farms and ranches provide for us as individuals in this community; and what do the same provide to the community as a whole?
These “Tuesday Talks” will continue with more programs in May and June centering on Main Street businesses, Timber and Agriculture, Tourism and Recreation, Religion, and our Community Non-Profits. We’ll cover the waterfront, from JAZEE Timber to Monday night dinners at The Place, Community Conversations are free and open to the public. And we’ll have the coffee on!
