Cancelled Fishtrap Presents: Journaling Workshop
In this workshop you will write and journal with emphasis on becoming more aware of your feelings, surroundings, situations, and experiences that happen in our daily lives. No two people record nor do they experience any given circumstance in the same way. We will explore how each of us express that in our journals. Also, by writing down one’s life, one can look back and reflect on how an attitude or outlook can change as one ages. I want to keep it light and make it fun. Bring pen and paper or your favorite journal.
Janie Tippett began journaling when she was a young girl. When she was in her late forties, she began writing a column for a newspaper published in Pendleton, and kept it up for 31 years. She says thanks to Fishtrap and her editors, who taught her so much, she was later to publish her first book of non-fiction, Four Lines a Day, which was drawn from a local ranch woman’s diaries that began in 1938. She has also been published in numerous anthologies and was a free-lance photo journalist for many years. She is active in two local writing groups and says we are never too old to learn, or follow our dreams. She also says writing can be fun, and it is one way to find out about yourself.
