Brown Bag with Kathleen Bennett
"Medicare and Medicare Supplemental Insurance Programs"
Kathleen Bennett, who has worked in the healthcare field and then in health insurance in Wallowa County for years, will be our Brown Bag presenter on Tuesday, October 11.
How many of us really know our Medicare and supplemental insurance programs? What is covered? What not? Ambulance? Lifeflight? In-patient and outpatient surgery? Dental and vision: what's covered and what not? How do the deductibles work? Etc. etc.
The Josephy Center recently sponsored a Brown Bag, and then follow-up sessions with Dr. Keith and Janet Graham on "Advanced Medical Directives." Until serious illness or injury hits us personally, it is easy to put this aside. About 15 of us, with great help from the Grahams and each other, were able to complete Advanced Directives.
Let's clear the deck--get clear on our Medicare. Many of us are on it and don't know what we have. Some of us are about to get there, and should know what coverage will be, and whether we should or can wait for Medicare to kick in before we attend to some medical issues (they were great on my artificial hips!).
Medical knowledge is personal power as we age (and as our parents age)
Join us at noon on Tuesday, October 11, at the Josephy Center.
