Brown Bag Lunch
Brown Bag is a free event that feature informal presentations and discussions on the first and third or more, Tuesday noons of each month. Join us today with Mary Edwards, Retired Fisheries Biologist / Photographer with Nez Perce Tribe Fisheries Research Division will give a summary of her sixteen years in--“in” and not “on”-- the Lostine River. Mary spent the lion's share of her fisheries career working in the Lostine River, assisting in the recovery of Spring Chinook Salmon. Early field work in this endeavor required snorkeling the Lostine from the confluence up to Turkey Flat to collect juvenile Chinook Salmon for the recovery program.
Mary says that “from the moment my face hit the chilly melt water and I saw the astounding beauty from below, I knew my camera was destined to capture this environment. Equally clear, was the motivation to bring portraits of this environment literally to the surface, to share with the community and to bring awareness of this unique river system coursing through our valley.”
Please join Mary and the Josephy Center crew for an underwater “snorkel tour” and immerse yourself in the cool scenes of the Lostine from "Below the Liquid Line."
Brown Bag programs are free and open to the public at the Josephy Center on Main Street in Joseph, Oregon.
