Bonfire Social/Music by Joseph + Mama Doll + Saigon County
Ugly Yeti presents a night of intimate music and fellowship. JOSEPH (PDX), MAMA DOLL (SPOKANE,) SAIGON COUNTY (ENTERPRISE), about the Bonfire Social. Sometimes a five foot stage creates a divide between audience and performer. The Bonfire Social Shows endeavor to tear down that barrier with more intimate house and barn shows. The Bonfire is a metaphor for community. That said, we generally have an actual bonfire after the show to socialize and connect with one another. Featuring beautiful harmonies from the three sisters of Portland based "Joseph" named in part for the very area that we reside in here in Eastern Oregon. Mama Doll (Spokane) and local favorites Saigon County will provide opening support. So bring your keen ears, appropriate libations, a blanket or chair to sit on, and a stick with something to roast around a fire after the show. --- ADV tickets;:$8 ||| DOS $10 June 26, 7 PM @The Red Barn.
JOSEPH (PDX) - Folk/Vocalists http://thebandjoseph.com/music/ A band of three sisters from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. JOSEPH IS: Honest words and genetically perfected harmonies. JOSEPH IS: Native. Dreamer. Kin. Joseph, the name of our grandfather. We are family. We are kin. When we share our sounds and stories we offer them to you - to find yourself in them - and we invite you into this kinship, togetherness, and belonging.
Mama Doll www.mamadollmusic.com Mama Doll began as the collaboration between Sarah Berentsen and Austen Case. The combination of ukulele, floor tom, and angelic vocals serve to bring their haunting songs alive. After the first few live shows, they recruited Jen Landis to fill out the low end on electric bass. Sarah plays her ukulele through a slightly overdriven guitar amp, giving it a biting edge and making more space for evocative vocal melodies. Austen's arsenal of instruments is small but potent, a simple floor tom becomes a concert of sound. Jen's basslines, played through a vintage tube amp, are a smooth wave upon which the melody rides.
Saigon County (Eastern Oregon) - Americana www.SaigonCounty.com Eastern Oregon is big country, which lends itself to grand statements and quiet moments. Saigon County embraces both of these aspects of the region, shaping them into melodies that reflect the values and struggles of the land. Led by singer and guitarist Brian Buck, his vocals range from husky whispers about everyday heartache to belting ballads for home, family, and the west. Backed by the seasoned and versatile singer/songwriter Eric Sinclair along with Wallowa County native, Joel Stein on the bass, Saigon County is the complete package: earnest men, making honest music.
