Virtual discussion about the role women played upon settling the Oregon Territory. Topics to be discussed may include: the 19th century gender norms and stereotypes, a woman’s role of moral guardians and purveyors of culture, as well as women’s clothing and fashion.
Sarah Sherman: Sarah Sherman is the project manager for the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. Sarah hails from the commonwealth of Virginia, and after spending some time in Arizona, recently moved her small family to Oregon in May of 2022.
