2026 NEOSWA Spring Tour
Join the Northeast Oregon Small Woodlands Association on Tuesday, May 19th (10:00 AM – 2:30 PM) in Wallowa for a hands-on look at how local forests connect to real-world opportunities, from the classroom to innovative wood products.
The tour will kick off at Wallowa High School, where students are actively managing a local forest and running a mobile sawmill, getting real-world forestry experience. Then we’ll head over to Heartwood Biomass to see how wood is transformed into products like firewood, biochar, forest straw, posts, and more.
Attendees will also get a preview of the upcoming OSU Lumber Grading Program coming to La Grande this fall!
