This change is being driven in part by an increased awareness of the significant impact that residents can make\, re-directing even a small portion of their investments and savings from Wall Street to locally owned businesses. The Community Capital Initiative is not focused on accredited investors but on non-wealthy individuals who have some investment money and care about the region in which they live.\n\n \n\nThe NE Oregon Community Capital Collaborative and its Local Impact Investing Opportunity Network (LIION) affiliate are offering a series of workshops for people who want to learn more about local investing as an investor\, business owner\, or both! \n\n\n\nThe Miller Charitable Fund and the Ward Family Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation\, the Ford Family Foundation\, and the Pacific Power Foundation have contributed to NEOEDD's community capital and local-investing programming.\n\n\n	Workshop 3 (Nov. 13) - What Local Investors Want: Helps business owners understand their options\, what they need to know to stay compliant with securities law\, motivations investors may have for investing locally\, and implications of accepting a local investment.
