DESCRIPTION:Literary Arts and Fishtrap are pleased to announce that the Oregon Book Award Author Tour will travel to Wallowa County on Friday\, October 21 at 7:00pm as part of Fishtrap's season of readings in their new event space at 107 W. Main Street in Enterprise. Featured readers are Portland novelist Mark Savage and Oregon Book Award winner\, Vanessa Veselka. \n\n \n\n"We always enjoy bringing the Oregon Book Award authors to towns across Oregon and we are especially excited to bring these authors to Enterprise." says Literary Arts' Susan Moore\, "One of the great benefits of the tour is the way it brings authors to towns they might not have an opportunity to visit otherwise\, and the connections they make with news audiences of readers and writers."\n\n \n\nMeet these fine writers as they read selections from their books and learn more about the Oregon Book Awards. Conversation\, refreshments\, and a book signing will follow the reading. This event is presented by Literary Arts\, is free to the public\, and appropriate for all ages. Veselka is also the author of the novel Zazen\, which won the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and was an Oregon Book Awards finalist. Her short stories have appeared in Tin House and ZYZZYVA\, and her nonfiction in GQ\, The Atlantic\, and Smithsonian. Her novel\, The Great Offshore Grounds was the 2021 winner of the Ken Kesey Award for fiction and was long-listed for the National Book Award.\n\n \n\nMark Savage is an Oregon Book Award finalist in fiction for his debut novel\, Fictional Film Club. He is an author and musician from Portsmouth\, England now living in Portland where he is a bookseller and co-host of the Mind-Meld. Fictional Film Club is his first novel.\n\n \n\nThe Oregon Book Awards\, a program of Literary Arts\, are presented annually for the finest accomplishments by Oregon writers who work in genres of poetry\, fiction\, literary nonfiction\, drama and young readers literature.
