SUMMARY:Community Food System Session
DESCRIPTION:The Wallowa County Food Council is inviting anyone working on local food production\, food access\, or food education to attend a half-day planning session facilitated by Sharon Thornberry\, Community Food Systems Manager at Oregon Food Bank. Thornberry will be travelling from Corvallis to Wallowa County to facilitate the session which will focus on updating and detailing food system projects and activities that will take place over the next year.  The session will take place from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday\, October 17th at the Wallowa Resources conference room\, in Enterprise. \n\nParticipants will discuss projects that RARE AmeriCorps volunteer Lauren Johnson will be assisting with\, as well as provide updates on the work of community food system partners\, such as Community Connection\, Slow Food Wallowas\, community gardens and farm-to-school. The session will include a presentation of 2013 community food system data and county-level indicators that have been collected by food system consultant Matthew Buck.
