This is your chance to get\n\nyour hands in the clay and learn the fundamentals of throwing with ceramic artist Brett\n\nBinford.\n\n \n\nThis eight-week introductory course is designed for beginners\n\nand those looking to build confidence on the wheel. Brett will guide students through the\n\nbasics of preparing clay\, centering\, opening\, pulling walls\, shaping\, trimming\, and\n\ndeveloping their own forms. There will be plenty of time to practice\, experiment\, make\n\nmistakes\, and discover what the clay can do.\n\n \n\nWith decades of experience as a ceramic artist\, educator\, gallery owner\, and co-founder\n\nof Portland's Mudshark Studios\, Brett brings both deep technical knowledge and a\n\nworking artist's perspective to the studio. His experience ranges from individual studio\n\nceramics to large-scale production and some wonderfully unusual projects including\n\nhelping create commemorative pieces for Olympic athletes.\n\n \n\nWhether you've never touched a pottery wheel or you're ready to refresh your skills\, come\n\nspend your Tuesday evenings getting comfortable with clay and discovering the satisfying\n\n(and occasionally hilarious) process of making something with your own hands.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nClass size is limited.
